Akira Studio strongly believes that visiting inspirational places and people provides an opportunity for both business and personal development / growth, that is impossible to achieve in conventional circumstances. To this end we will endeavour to support a charity each year which involve amazing trips of adventure and discovery – often with like minded positive successful people. I can vouch for the inspirational qualities of Mount Sterling in the High Country (Mansfield, Australia) as I wrote our future growth business plan after riding over 4 days and sleeping under the stars at the summit earlier this year. Our chosen charity for 2007 was Treckforce Worldwide supporting AL and Louise on their journey to Belize in South America to work on community projects for the native people in the jungle – details of their adventure can be found here www.louiseandalinthejungle.co.uk The Andean ChallengeMy name is Tony Scott, I am 35 and the Director of Akira Studio Ltd. My interest in horses only began last November when I helped create a new website, Voices For Horses. During the project I have spent a great deal of time getting to know these magnificent animals and now work with Emma Kurrels of Voices For Horses along side Akira Studio on a day to day basis. The welfare of equines is one of the many topics Voices For Horses covers. Through the project I learnt of The International League For the Protection Of Horses and the charity work they do to help protect and rehabilitate equines. I started riding lessons not long after getting involved with Voices for Horses and was instantly hooked. On a trip to Australia earlier this year and after a 4 day ride through The High Country I made the decision that I wanted to personally support the ILPH charity by entering into one of their challenges. Especially in the light of the recent Amersham case at Spindles Farm which Voices for Horses have been covering on the web site with video and articles. Over the coming months I will be working on improving my fitness levels and riding skills to prepare myself for the challenge, as spending most of my life behind a desk running the business is a world away from riding over 30km per day at altitudes of 2500 Meters for 10 days across the Andeas mountain range! The thought of being able to give something back and raise money to help ensure the welfare of others is cause alone to commit my time to this challenge and I am counting on the support of people and business like you to help me on my journey for the ILPH. |
